Our small contribution

What and Why ?

Here at Lords we decided it was high time we did something in our own backyard to help Mother Earth.  Because everything we do on our planet has an impact, and as enthusiastic travellers ourselves we always try to choose the 'enviromentally friendly' option.

We have always been committed to reducing our carbon footprint (even before what we knew what this was in real terms) and the environmental impact of our operation by recycling, energy reduction, fuel efficiency and waste minimisation.  And now we are proud to be annually offsetting our carbon emissions.

Our team are  to consistantly making a difference, even in small ways, i.e. refusing disposable coffee cups at driver stops by carrying our own, regular scheduled maintenence of our fleet, recycling paper and printer cartridges in the office and carrying rubbish bags to tidy our enviroment wherever we tour.

We always take the option to carbon offset our flights.  Every little bit counts is our motto.  We want you to have pride in travelling with Lords as one of the leaders in the Northern Territory for enviromentally friendly travel.

We are proud to have teamed up with http://www.climatefriendly.com/ in 2008/2009 to assist us in offsetting our carbon emissions.  This is the first step in an ongoing process for our company.  We have calculated (using the Climate Friendly online emissions calculator) that Lords generated 66.6 tonnes of CO2 in the 2008/2009 financial year, this includes vehicle mileage, electricity, flights and general office usage.  Its not perfect but its a great start and one we hope many other companies in the NT will follow.

Testimonials

Thanks a million for making three days seem like three months of wonderful sights, delicious meals and great company ! A fabulous introduction to your magnificent 2007 remote homeland. And as for your constant care and consideration – camping was a delight – thank you. I’d love to stay longer but will just have to come back again.
