Sab, Just to confirm - for your wimpish Aussie guests - that all climbs / trips / food / accomodation /showers on a Lords safari are enjoyed very much - even by the really ancient Brits ! Thank you for a great four days and for the real insight to the Aboriginals - their culture and talents as well as their problems with the white man.Gill & AnthonyUK 2010
Hi Lords, Rob wears his many hats so well – leader, facilitator, educator, advisor, interpreter, provider, driver, guide, and a fantastic bloke as well! He ensured our small group received just the right amount of information to enable us to make the most of the many aspects of the trip. The land is spectacular, and thanks to our young guide, I came away with a dual appreciation of it. The stops Rob made during the course of the day provided both a bit of fun – while learning about the bush - and the opportunity to take in some pretty special sights. All up, such a brilliant day that I wasn’t even tired after 15 hours! Back home in Melbourne, my friends and colleagues are rather surprised when I say that Arnhemland was the best trip, and I’m happily promoting Lords Safaris to everyone who asks about my Top End holiday. Thank you for a fantastic day Rob.Best Wishes,Victoria
Good morning from a grey and overcast Melbourne,Late last year I took your tour to Arnhemland. It was late September one of your last tours for the season (the one when the Lovely Dan had the bus accident!) it was the second time I had been to Gunbalanya in the week as I went with another tour company as part of tour up to Coburg Pen. But I must extend an overdue congratulations to Lords as it is by far the most superior tour group I have been on in the Territory (and I have done 8 different tours of varying lengths over the past 11 months), besides the little bus accident it was a perfect day. When you go on a tour you expect what you pay for - bus, lunch, guide etc an added bonus is the truly spectacular countryside of Arnhemland , but what is priceless about your tour is the knowledge. The information that Dan and our Injalak guide Thomo (Thomson) shared with us you can't put a price on that, the little things, the stories, the pictures you keep in your memory will stay with me for ever. I was privileged to have Thomo as my guide up the hill on both occasions, what a treasure that man is, he told everyone on the tour to go home and share his stories with our families and friends then bring them back to Gunbalanya so they can learn for themselves ~ so that is exactly what I am doing. CheersNicole
Hi sab, I would like to thank your crew for a wonderful day out to Arnhemland in May 2010. From the initial booking through to arriving back in Darwin the tour was award winning. The day just flew, even with the early start from Darwin! Rob looked after our group with a wealth of local information, fun and care. Thommo in Arnhemland was great and wonderful to hear that so much of the aboriginal art and culture is being kept alive. Thankyou for making my first day in NT so memorable!
Hi everyone at Lords.Following a trip into Arnhem Land on Monday, 31st May, 2010, we are contacting you to sincerely congratulate you for having the foresight to establish such a brave and exciting adventure. We ( Jill Jeeves and Murray Buchanan ) travelled with guide Rob who can only be described as a highly motivated and dedicated fun loving and sincere person. What an exciting way to spend a working day. Sharing such an incredible experience with people who mostly, we presume, have never experienced such an environment as Arnhem Land, and probably have not met people like the inhabitants of Injalak, can only be a very moving experience. As we write this email it is Wednesday evening and we have not stopped discussing the complete day’s happenings. It was one of life’s experiences which we will always remember. We are finding it difficult to comprehend the effect that meeting Thompson ( Thomo ) has had on both of us. He is a beautiful man with massive skills and knowledge and luckily we are now proud owners of some of his art work.To now be able to visualize:· The incredible Rock art and an understanding of it’s meaning imparted by Thomo· The huge scenic views· The unbelievable site where we ate lunch. Never to be forgotten· The volume and variety of bird life in and around Injalak· The presence of spirits as we explored the access tracks in and amongst Injalak Hill· The trip to and from Jabiru to InjalakWe could go on and on.Rob, a sincere thank you for doing what you are doing. You are the best mate and we hope that our paths cross again someday. Have fun doing what you are doing and rest easy knowing that what you are introducing to many of us is appreciated more than you may ever realize.Cheers to the Lord’s team,Best regards,
...Into Arnhem Land...I felt amazing crossing into Arnhem Land. I felt like a stranger in a foreign land, and that I was. A place I do not belong. I could never belong and I felt utterly privilaged to be allowed to venture in. I was awestruck. How fortunate to be able to see Arnhem Land, a witness to a place and to a way of life that will last who knows how long? So many complex and unanswerable reasons... ...We head out to an escarpment. It's hot. It's that all consuming end of wet season, not quite dry season, humidity. I feel white. I feel like an invader but at the same time I feel an incredible privilage to be here, and especially with Wilfred. He walks slowly. He thinks before he talks. He watches, He looks at all of us individually. I cannot help but wonder what he thinks... ...Wilfred tells us, how in the not too distant past, men would go out and gather others for days to come to the sacred burial ceremonies. It is a good story. Wilfred is an expert story teller. We are all silent. We listen carefully, reverently. Then he tells us how now they just get on their mobile phones "and call the mob to come". We all laugh. We laugh together, all of us... ...We drive back into the township of Oenpelli and to the Injaluk Art centre. Rob explains how important Injaluk is to the Aboriginal people, how it's an opportunity to make money from the sale of artwork, that it is worthwhile supporting. Working in textiles myself I am instantly drawn to the baskets. The workmanship is incredible, beautiful. There are lots of baskets. I wait for one to 'speak to me' and I purchase that one. I am thrilled to be taking home a little of Arnhem Land with me. After selecting my basket I find that Mary, the lady who has made it, is outside working on more...I meet Mary. She sits on the ground weaving, engrossed in her current work. I show her the basket of hers that I have selected and that I think is wonderful and is now so precious to me. I love the basket. I appreciate the effort, I understand the hours of dying and weaving and I am grateful. Also working in textiles I long to pull up and sit on the ground beside her and share a conversation. To me she is a wonderful memory, to her I am sure just another passing tourist...
Dear Ann Maree, Sab & Hamish Thank you all for a wonderful 4-days in Kakadu and Arnhemland. Our tour was sensational, and every day was better than the one before! Ann Maree and Sab, you designed it perfectly for our family, and we really appreciate the time you took explaining things when we made our initial enquiries. There were many highlights: we loved swimming in crystal clear water after challenging walks and then sitting on the rocks for a picnic lunch while overlooking a waterfall, we enjoyed the climb to see the ancient indigenous rock art, we enjoyed the Yellow Water cruise and the sunset cruise, we loved seeing the bird-life and were awed by the crocodiles, and we just loved the evenings when we sat toasting marshmallows in the campfire after a fabulous dinner. Hamish, your talents are exceptional - you are knowledgeable about the areas we visited, you drove well, carried our lunches, cooked our evening meals, set us up in our tents for the night, and kept all 7 of us happy, grandparents, parents and 3 young boys. We will remember our holiday for a very long time. Deanna & Harry Ross
My husband and I recently experienced a one day tour of Arnhem Land from Jabiru -Kakadu Lodge. We picked a winner when we chose Lords Safaris for this one day tour to Arnhemland. Both the Guide Dan CROFT and Aboriginal Guide Allan were enthusiastic and knowledgableand we learnt a great deal about aboriginal mythology, culture flora and fauna. What a great asset you have in Dan, he made the day a memorable experience wth his great people skills and sense of humour. Jan & Peter, Maryborough, Queensland
Thanks again for a great couple of days. Now that I’m back at work in Sydney, I just want to be back up there and can understand the attraction it has for many people.Rest assured both Alison and I are walking billboards for Lords/Hamish. I can’t stop talking about it with people. As with our child care business, we earn more goodwill and ongoing business from word of mouth and referral. I’d say you are achieving this as well in bucket loads. I hope your business will continue to do well even in these difficult times. Please call us if you come to Sydney. We would love to catch up.Best wishesMark and Alison Now that I’m back at work in Sydney, I just want to be back up there and can understand the attraction it has for many people.Rest assured both Alison and I are walking billboards for Lords/Hamish. “Thanks for a fantastic day on the Arnhemland safari. It was the highlight of our trip and we were taken care of brilliantly by our tour guide Rob. No detail was overlooked in ensuring our enjoyment of what was a truly memorable day.”Marie Thorpe and Sara Currie (Melb)
This is a quick note to say "thank you so very much" for this truly fantastic pre-conference trip to Kakadu and Arnhemland I have had the priviledge to join in [I have copied Julieta from Tourism NT in Sydney in to this message as the thank you very much goes to her and the team, too!]. The three days out in Kakadu and Arnhemland have been a wonderful experience and I was personally impressed about how Lord's Safaris are run and operated. The flexibility, the customer-focus and the personalised level of attention we experienced was a unique experience. And allow me to mention Hamish in particular, too, as he has not only been instrumental, his tour guiding very much made the difference. The famil experience will stay with me for a long time to come, there is no doubt about it. The highlights of the trip are too numerous to mention them all; for me personally, there were three absolute 'stand-outs' though: Hamish, our friendly guide and driver; the visit of Oenpelli and the half day bushwalk with Wilfried [what a truly wonderful person we met with him!] and the stay at and experience of Bamurru Plains. Not to be overlooked of course were the boat cruises, the wonderful food, other people we met along the way, the overall wilderness experience and the magical attraction of Kakadu. Thanks again for allowing us to travel with you, I am grateful to have been offered this opportunity.Matt (Travel Agent Famil Trip)
Hi Sab just wanted to let you know that we absolutely loved our tour of ArnhemLand on Thursday. It was a bit of a shock for us "city slickers" to getup before the sun but boy was it worth it. Our tour guide, Rob, was fantastic, he was engaging, knowledgeable, informative, witty and enthusiastic about where he was taking us and whatwe were about to experience. He was inclusive of everyone in the groupand took great care to even get the kids involved in all of the activities(he is obviously the right man for the job). We loved the game of 'liveor die' even though all of us except our 7 year old would have died!! The thing we liked the most was the fact that the tour was not at allcommercial or 'touristy', but rather, a genuine man letting us in on a bitof his culture and his home. Gary's stories were interesting andobviously came straight from his heart - some were surprisingly verymoving. We felt very privileged to have been allowed to view these veryspecial art works and the stories of this community. Thanks again for our special day - a highlight of our trip for sure. Andto think it was all organised by e-mail. We had a ball - a day we willnever forget. Thanks again to Rob and Gary We would recommend this for everyone. Kind regards,Michelle, Gary, Amy, Jay and Mia Saddington
Thank you so much for the fabulous day in Arnemland on Thursday. It was a real eye opener and great experience. Gary was a total "Hoot" as of course was Rob. They are both great blokes and do your company a great service with a fun and educational attitude to making the day as perfect as possible. A tour like this should become a part of evey Australian's "Must Do" list as the importance of it is indescriable to the value it places on how we treat our Indigenous population in Australia. Once again a big thank you, one of the best tours I have had the priviledge to have been on. Kind regards JJ Stranan
I write (finally) to express my sincere appreciation and thanks for my experience during the Arnhemland Day Tour. Having returned to Melbourne from the most wonderful 2 week trip to The Territory and having to hit the ground running with my "city life" it is refreshing to note that after 3 weeks back and in the midst of reality I keep thinking about my Arnhemland tour above all else experienced. Dan was our guide. He was accommodating, charming, knowledgable and passionate. This shone through every step of the way. He never missed a beat, pulling over to show & tell about the local wild and plant life. He is a wealth of knowledge with a connection to the local community that I have not ever been priviliged to see in that magnitude. Arnhemland needs no words...it is a place to be experienced...It is truly magical and entirely unforgettable. Garry (our local guide) was the most peaceful man I have ever met and I feel so lucky that he was "there at the right time"! Friends and family are all aware of this awesome experience and know to use Lords for their own Northern Territory trips. What do you get when you cross natural awe-inspiring terrain, a small group and a charming outback guide with ties to and rapport with the local community? An experience to be held in one's heart and mind forever and a day. Thank you again and look forward to booking with you in the future. Yours sincerely, Caroline Donohue

Last Saturday (3rd Oct) along with a group of other tourists I went on a 1 day trip to Arnhem Land which I thoroughly enjoyed. I had been most disappointed when Friday's trip was cancelled, but understood the situation and was impressed with the attempts to advise me & organise another trip (including taking phone calls late into the night & early the next day), even though this would have been a difficult time for you. Dan was a wonderful tour guide, going out of his way to meet everyone's needs & to take care of their comfort & well-being. He was extremely informative & good humoured, as well as interpersonally skilled & willing to please. He is clearly well suited to the work, showing real enthusiasm for it. Due to his efforts, as well as those of Thommo @ Gunbalanya (who was also exceptionally skilled, keen to please & share his knowledge), I had one of the most enjoyable days I've ever experienced & certainly one of the most rewarding. Both men were extremely considerate as well as highly conscious of the safety, health & enjoyment of each person. They both showed off Arnhem Land well, despite the time limits. You select good people! The Injalak community was also very welcoming, with people there treating us very well, sharing their knowledge & skills and showing great pleasure in informing & assisting us as well as just chatting amiably. Overall, a great experience.Overall, I'd like to say that I will consciously look to do more travel with your organisation, as I've been extremely impressed with what I've experienced. I hope to come to NT again next year & in the meantime, will explore options via your website & would also be happy to have brochures sent to me. This was my first trip to NT. Thankyou for a wonderful experience. Jen Manson 2009
We had such a wonderful trip with Hamish that there is nothing we can suggest which could have made it any better . Hamish has such a splendid fund of knowledge and appreciation of the aboriginal people that he has left us all much wiser and appreciative of their importancein our society. I am taking the liberty of putting your tour details onour Drummoyne Rugby website with my enthusiastic endorsement. I am sure others will follow!
I am a little late in writing to you re our tour.I am Maureen; one of the girls who turned up at your house to book our tour. You may remember there were four of us.We had a great day.Rob was most attentive; especially the attention I received with my leg cramp. ( Just pretended the others said for personal attention) He was most imformative. Thompson was delightful.Would recomend your tour to anyone. Thank you for your help also with suggestions for Kakadu trip in general. We appreciated your suggestions. Maureen Wasley, Val, Jenny & Lynette
"It is really easy to say you had a great holiday, but very hard to say that you have had a holiday experience which has ignited a spirit within. We were seven, five Australians living in Shanghai and my parents from Sydney - ages from 4 1/2 years to 73. The Kakadu Arnhemland experience was everything we anticipated, beautiful weather, temperature and the wild north. The difference was living it with Lords Safaris. It is rare to travel with a company so passionate about their environment and love of nature, respect for the Aboriginal culture and everything else this great land mass offers. Great trip, great food, and a true to life Northern Territory event"
A word of thanks for your great tour. We enjoyed the tour to the outback and to the lands of the Aboriginal People. Also the food ! I think if Jean and I stayed another month we would need special equipment to get off the plane. We will say goodbye for now, expect to see you again in the future.
Thank you for sharing your Northern Territory with us. We had a fantastic trip, loved every minute of it. Your local and Aboriginal knowledge has given us a great insight, you really looked after the family well. Food and service fantastic – we even liked the Magpie Goose almost as much as you ! We will take home many happy memories and plenty of good stories. You have raised the bar for camping – we will be back.
Thanks a million for making three days seem like three months of wonderful sights, delicious meals and great company ! A fabulous introduction to your magnificent 2007 remote homeland. And as for your constant care and consideration – camping was a delight – thank you. I’d love to stay longer but will just have to come back again.
We truly enjoyed our trip to Kakadu and Arnhemland. Thank you for sharing with us your experience, knowledge of the land and culture and all of what this beautiful land has to offer. This was a great adventure we will remember forever."
"Thank you for an adventure we will always remember, we loved everything - it has been the highlight of our holiday. We enjoyed learning about Australia, Kakadu and nature and getting to know you. You are a great guide."
