A one day tour of Kakadu is simply not enough.
We definitely believe the Northern Territory needs more of your time! This is a vast, rugged and beautiful landscape with ancient mysteries and incredible wildlife to discover.
Still, we do appreciate that for some busy travelers there is no other option. So what can you see on a one day tour of Kakadu?
We’ll depart Darwin early and travel into Kakadu National Park via the Arnhem Highway. We’ll have a quick stop at the historic Bark Hut Inn before entering the park.
First we visit Nourlangie Rock, one of Kakadu’s oldest Aboriginal rock art sites. Then we continue south along the Kakadu Highway to Cooinda, where we have lunch. There is also time to visit the wonderful Warradjan Cultural Centre.
In the afternoon we join a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong, home to an astonishing array of bird life and saltwater crocodiles.
In the late afternoon we make our way back to Darwin via the old Jim Jim Road, arriving into Darwin at approximately 7pm.
Pick up for this tour is available from all Darwin central hotels at 6am. Contact our reservations team today for availability.
We definitely recommend you also consider our longer tour options. With so much to explore in Australia’s Top End, it’s a shame to only scratch the surface!
