This full day private tour lasts approximately 13 hours and departs at 6.30am from the Darwin Transit Centre, Mitchell Street, in the heart of Darwin. We can also pick you up at your hotel by prior arrangement.

Our day begins with a drive down the Stuart Highway – one of Australia’s longest roads – before we take a left turn on the highway that leads to Kakadu.

Our first destination is a quick stop at an iconic roadhouse, the Bark Hut Inn, before we continue our adventure on the old Jim Jim Road into Kakadu. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed national park covers an area of more than 19,800 square kilometres.

First stop is Nourlangie Rock, where thousands of years of rock art unfold over the course of a 1.5-kilometre walk. The stone galleries are a beautiful display of ochre paint on the rock faces.

The Bininj people are the traditional custodians of Kakadu National Park, and to introduce you to their way of life we visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre. This interpretive centre will allow you a fantastic insight to the Aboriginal people’s relationship with the land.

A late lunch at Cooinda is followed by a Yellow Water Cruise at one of Kakadu’s icons – the Yellow Water Billabong. This 10-square-kilometre pristine environment supports a truly wonderful variety of plants, birds, crocodiles and Top End wildlife. You may see saltwater crocodiles, a Jacana bird walking on water, the magnificent sea eagle or any one of the 280 species that call this billabong home.
